First iPhone Blog Entry – Catching Fireflies with the Family

June 26th, 2009 danaedwards 1 comment

I am still new to my iPhone and because of that, I am looking at every way possible to use it. My hope is that I will figure out the best and optimal way to suggest to others as well as make my own life simpler. There is probably a side of my family that sees the good and the bad of all this mobility and integration.

Anyways, here is how this blog entry came to be. First, I had to buy a mobile device. The biggest deliberation was determining if I would ever use it and after that whether I wanted an iPhone or a Pre. I ended up choosing an iPhone because I didn’t like the keyboard or the size of the Pre. After choosing the iPhone, I spent a few moments opening up the app store and installing the Wordpress app. Configuration of the app took almost no time at all – just enter my URL, my userid and then my password. I was up and running in just a few moments. There was really nothing to it at all.

More importantly, my evening was filled with a fun event with Claire, Brennan and Jill catching fireflies. I was responsible for Lucy and taking the photos. Jill and Brennan caught all of the fireflies while Claire ran around the yard carrying he jar. It was a lot of fun and gave me a fun topic to end my blog entry.

Geocaching Success!

June 6th, 2009 danaedwards No comments

Brennan and I went for a second bike hike today and caught up with some friends, the Mosers, who were Treasure Hunting!  We found the treasure for a Van Halen sounding geocache puzzle! We started the ride playing out by the fountain which was apparently prohibited and then on to the Treasue. The treasure was pretty neat – a little metal tube with a glass tube inside with a small scroll of all the people inside who had found it. Jill stayed home and slept. Great afternoon!

Thanks to Greg and Elizabeth Moser for showing us how to geocache!

Family “Bike Hike”

June 6th, 2009 danaedwards No comments

Today, Brennan suggested we go on a family “bike hike”, which I later understood is his way of saying let’s go biking.  Really not much occurred on the bike hike except that we went down to the Highland Creek golf course and looked at some electric boxes, my wife was attacked by a pair of shih tzus and we saw a little weird green guy.  I love the idea of

the green guy which is pretty evident when you look at him. I don’t see the need to get one at this point given we live in a cul-de-sac and we dont get many people speeding in our cul-de-sac except perhaps the occasional NASCAR enthusiast doing laps. I am just really happy that Brennan is riding faster and more comfortably every day.

Here is a link to the Family Action Movie.

General Cinema’s Candy Band

I am so happy to have found this video of the Candy Band. It reminds me of when I was younger and would go to the movies. I hope you enjoy it, too!
